From MVP to European scale: Air Liquide’s SAP FSM field service transformation
Asset-intensive organisations increasingly require unified service platforms to manage complex maintenance operations across countries, technicians and assets. As part of its EU-ALign transformation program, Air Liquide is modernising its European IT and business backbone while harmonising operational processes across multiple business lines and geographies.
A key element of this transformation is the introduction of SAP Field Service Management (FSM) as the central platform for planning, dispatching and mobile execution of maintenance activities across industrial and medical gas installations. The initiative aims to replace multiple legacy scheduling and mobile tools and establish a scalable field service architecture integrated with SAP S/4HANA. The platform will support planners and technicians across Europe while enabling more efficient coordination of maintenance activities and improved service execution in the field.
Following the initial MVP implementation and rollout of core capabilities for mobile execution and planning, the program is now expanding the platform across additional European countries. The rollout is accompanied by the introduction of advanced capabilities such as automated scheduling and enhanced service processes.
In this session, Air Liquide shares its journey toward building a scalable European field service platform with SAP FSM, including architectural principles, rollout strategy and practical insights gained while deploying the solution across a complex industrial landscape. The session highlights how a modern field service platform enables greater operational efficiency and provides a foundation
What participants will learn:
• How to look past standard technology narratives and measure how harmonising multi-country field operations onto a single platform drives down TCO, minimises operational variance, and builds enterprise value
• Strategies for utilising standardised workflows and automated tracking to guarantee strict regulatory compliance across high-stakes industrial and medical gas installations
• Practical architectural guidelines and governance frameworks for moving from a localised MVP to a multi-country rollout without disrupting active, regional field operations
• How integrating SAP FSM with SAP S/4HANA enables automated dispatching and real-time data sync, maximising technician utilisation and solving frontline labour bottlenecks.
